Consider visiting one of Britain's first public galleries the Fitzwilliam museum. The range of art is impressive from the minute you walk into the mosaic and marble foyer. It holds an Egyptian section, which is complete with mummies, and their armour section is quite impressive and worth seeing.
For some peace and tranquillity The Botanical garden has attractive walks and one of the largest tropical glass houses in the world with many rare species seldom seen outside the rain forest.
The Regal, the largest pub in Europe serves one of the biggest selections of real ales and once was the ABC cinema.
If you enjoy shopping, the bustling city centre of Cambridge has open air markets and a wealth of individual and national shops and stores to meet every need. Kings parade is full of touristy shops but for those of you who have a sweet tooth the Fudge Kitchen offer traditional fudge made before your very eyes. Taste a free sample or order a slab but don't forget your driver might have a sweet tooth!
Now for food and drink, whether you want a lively meal with friends, a romantic dinner or a quick break during a shopping spree or touristy experience. Cambridge has fantastic restaurants and cafes to suit everyone. You will be amazed at the huge variety of food available meeting your style and taste needs.
Or you could get your driver to take out of Cambridge and visit a number of village restaurants such as The Three Horse shoes in Madingley, The Plough at Coaton (5 miles away), or The Leads Arms in Eltisley (10 miles) which has recently been taken over and offers fine selection food.
Standing as a lasting memorial to sacrifices made by American forces during the Second World War, the American creamery stands in several acres of manicured lawns at Madingley Hill, which is also the highest point in Cambridgeshire.
For those with an interest of military history the imperial war museum at Duxford is a must. Duxford has been an airfield since the invention of the aircraft and was an important airbase during the battle of Britain. It now houses an unrifled collection of military and civil aircraft and hosts several air shows.
